Forever Midnight | An Unforgettable New Year’s Eve for Techno and House Lovers in LA

Forever Midnight | An Unforgettable New Year’s Eve for Techno and House Lovers in LA

Sergio Avila |

Let me tell you, there’s nothing like ringing in the New Year surrounded by pounding beats, flashing lights, and a sea of fellow ravers who get it. Forever Midnight at the Los Angeles Convention Center was the ultimate techno and house lover’s paradise, and if you missed it…well, let me try to give you a taste of what it was like.

Insomniac Does It Again

First off, shoutout to Insomniac Events for absolutely killing it with this one. These guys have been the heartbeat of the electronic music scene for years, and Forever Midnight proved why. While Insomniac’s founder, Pasquale Rotella, was busy making an appearance at Countdown NYE over in San Bernardino, the LA Convention Center was transformed into a massive playground for electronic music fans. Two festivals happening on the same night, each uniquely epic? Only Insomniac could pull that off.

Three Stages, Non-Stop Vibes

Forever Midnight wasn’t just a rave—it was an experience. Three stages, each bringing its own flavor, kept the energy alive from 4 PM to 4 AM. Yeah, you read that right—12 hours of pure bliss.

The Main Stage was stacked with heavy-hitters like Tiësto, Diplo, and Duke Dumont. Jamie Jones took us to another dimension with his OTHERWORLD set—straight up deep house magic. And Girl Math (VNSSA b2b NALA)? Absolute queens. That set had the kind of energy that leaves you talking about it weeks later.

Then there was Stage 2, hosted by Factory 93 and Club Space. If you’re into the darker, driving side of techno, this was where you needed to be. Adam Beyer, Loco Dice, and Lilly Palmer threw down sets that could shake the walls of any warehouse. The back-to-back set from Rossi and Prunk was a perfect way to keep things fresh and groovy.

Stage 3, hosted by Take It Outside, deserves its own shoutout. The lineup was a celebration of diversity in electronic music, with artists like DJ Minx b2b Cinthie and Heidi Lawden b2b Masha Mar throwing down some of the most eclectic sets of the night. It felt like the perfect blend of house party vibes and festival energy.

Insomniac’s Signature Production

You already know Insomniac didn’t hold back on production. The visuals were insane—LED panels, lasers cutting through the air, and lights perfectly synced to the music. Every stage had its own vibe, but the one thing they all shared was how immersive they were. The Main Stage felt like stepping into a futuristic dream, while Stage 2 was all about that gritty, underground aesthetic. And don’t even get me started on Stage 3—it had this intimate yet electric energy that was just chef’s kiss.

The Midnight Moment

When the clock struck midnight, the energy hit a peak that’s hard to put into words. Balloons and confetti rained down, the crowd roared, and the music swelled into one epic crescendo. Whether you were grooving to house or stomping to techno, it was a moment that made you feel alive. It’s the kind of memory that sticks with you.

Forever Midnight vs. Countdown NYE

While Forever Midnight was going off in LA, Insomniac was also running Countdown NYE at the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino. Countdown leaned a bit more EDM-heavy, with names like Zedd and Chainsmokers drawing in the crowds. Pasquale Rotella himself made an appearance there, and honestly, it’s pretty wild that Insomniac can run two festivals simultaneously without skipping a beat. But for those of us who live and breathe techno and house, Forever Midnight was the spot to be.

What It Means for the Scene

Forever Midnight wasn’t just another festival—it felt like a statement. A celebration of everything we love about the underground scene, brought to life on a massive scale. The blend of big-name acts and niche artists, the inclusive energy, and the passion for the music were all a reminder of why this culture means so much to so many.

As 2025 kicks off, we’re left with memories of an incredible night and a renewed love for techno and house music. Forever Midnight set the bar high for the year ahead, and honestly? I can’t wait to see what Insomniac cooks up next. Until then, keep dancing, keep raving, and keep spreading the love.

Here’s to the beats that keep us moving. Cheers, ravers. 🎶
